Good Times Great Oldies!!!

Okay everyone!  I had a funny memory the other day and I was laughing out loud!  I forget so much so when these things pop up, I love as the details begin to creep back in and make what was funny even funnier!
So here is my challenge to you all...
Tell about a funny memory from our childhood.  Anything.  Just something funny from the days of living with Mom and Dad.

Here is mine.  This is the one that had me laughing so hard.

So there was a time in the farmhouse when I was sitting in the living room watching TV.  Jesse was mad at me about something (can't remember what) and was trying to get me to do something.  (don't you love my vague memory)  Well I stood up and was confronting him about it, and I happened to be sitting using his blanket on the floor as I watched television.  Jesse got pretty fed up with me and came to grab the blanket and storm out.  Now mind you, we had wood floors and Jesse was a strong kind even back then.  Well he grabbed the blanket and gave it a good solid jerk.  I happened to be standing on the corner of it and as he jerked it out from underneath me, I did what I call a home alone fall.  My feet came right out from underneath me and I think I had a good amount of hang time before I crashed to the floor.  The best part was Jesse's face, he had a look of terror on his face as he realized what he had probably unintentionally done.  With that, he froze terrified, and ran- afraid of what I might do next.
His face was SO funny.  I don't remember being hurt, just laughing at the whole thing.

So I am sure we have a plethora of stories like this that you all think of time and again and laugh about.  I wanna hear them!
SO please comment or repost and share!

I love you all!!!

Springfield Weather Pics

Hey Guys! Here are some pictures I took from the ice storm and tornado. After sending out that email we realized there was a lot more damage than we thought. The tornado went through the parking lot of the missionaries' apartment (only the school parking lot and playground separate us). Since they are always out walking, they have much cooler pictures that we'll get from them soon. Their dumpster was thrown about 50 ft. They said they were pretty nervous. Carsey's school's sign was found in the freeway about 100 ft away.... Keep in mind the pictures below are from a neighborhood across the main road from us, but it didn't do this much damage everywhere.

This lady said she heard a loud noise, but went back to sleep until she was woken again by a neighbor who came over to check on her. The sirens didn't go off because the tornado appeared too suddenly.

These (below) are from the ice storm. It really wasn't that big of a deal, but we were surprised at how ice can just fall from the sky, then freeze over everything.

Obviously froze the doors and trunk closed.

One Handsome Hero and His Sister

Cooper is walking.... just thought you all deserved the update. Here are some pics of Cars and Coop in their fancy new Christmas outfits. By the way, I'm looking for some fun games that we can play online together. If anyone knows any sites with games that allow two players - please let me know. Love you all!!

Okay People...

How is Christmas coming, everyone?
I suppose everyone is busy with all the shopping and baking and such but I wanted to add a new blog entry.  Here's a little question entry and hopefully we can get some good feedback.  Here it is...

What is your favorite Campbell family holiday tradition?  Reply in the comments or as a post.

Here is mine...
I have great memories of the puzzles and games and the Chex mix.  I am sure my brain has warped the whole idea a bit, but I just remember having a puzzle up on a table and always having Chex mix around.  And cheese balls.  When we were in Utah, I remember the holiday season that Grandma and I got food poisoning from K-Mart and we ended up in bed for a few days between Christmas and New Years.  That year the 33rd ward was having a late night New Years party and I did NOT want to miss out.  I remember taking some Ibuprofen and going anyway, and having a great time.  That seemed to be one of my favorite New Years with an excitement that has been hard to match over the years.
I hate to be away for the holidays but I love finding ways to make them as enjoyable with as many traditions that I can maintain.  I hope you all are finding all the good fun that the holidays are supposed to bring.  I love you all.

Giving Thanks- Without a Turkey!

Another day has passed here in Nippon (that's Japanese for Japan) and it just happened to be Thanksgiving.  But other than thinking of home and telling maybe two or three Japanese people about this holiday of ours, it was just like any other day - and, I messed up a handful of times today- that set it apart a bit.
Seriously, I wanted to post a few pics and say hello to everyone on this day of days.  I miss the smells of home and playing with the nieces and nephews.  I even miss talking over everyone else's talking.  We are fun.
I am posting a picture and would like to start a "what I am thankful for" list.  Here is mine...
This year I am thankful for this amazing job and experience that has afforded me to pay off my debt and also has brought some great friends into my life.  I am so fortunate to have the things I have and to enjoy the things I do.

So yes, that is the beginning of the list.  Feel free to comment, one and all!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
